Injuries continue to plague the wrestling industry, and Powerhouse Hobbs will indeed be on the shelf.

Fightful reports that Hobbs will need to go under the knife and the surgery will happen "imminently." Hobbs suffered an injury during his IWGP World Heavyweight Championship match against titleholder Jon Moxley during the April 24th episode of AEW Dynamite. This was to be a big opportunity for Hobbs in a major spot, but the match had to be cut short.

It's another unfortunate injury added to the growing list within pro wrestling.

Hobbs' injury occurred when he charged at Moxley in the corner. The IWGP champion moved out of the way and Hobbs crashed into the turnbuckle, injuring his knee in the process. Moxley then hit a suicide dive and ensured he wasn't moving at full speed to protect Hobbs. In the ring, Moxley hit Paradigm Shift followed by a rear-naked choke for the win.

AEW is already reeling when it comes to injuries, including one dealt to former TBS Champion Julia Hart. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful also reported that the early word is Hart will need surgery, although details of her injury are scarce at this time.

Sports Illustrated's MMA Knockout would like to wish Powerhouse Hobbs and Julia Hart the very best on their road to recovery.
