Detroit Tigers reliever Gregory Soto was absolutely on fire Friday night as his sinker reached 100 miles per hour on a strikeout of Matt Davidson.
Soto came into the game in the seventh inning against the Cincinnati Reds and retired the side on just eight pitches. His strikeout pitch of Davidson registered at exactly 100.4 miles per hour.
Here’s how Soto looked facing the three batters he retired.

Just an incredible showing from the 25-year-old flamethrower, who has been red hot since the start of the season.
Soto has faced 15 batters this season and retired 14 of them, 8 by strikeout.

The only batter who reached base was hit by a pitch. https://t.co/BMjE0X3h2i
Here’s how MLB Twitter users reacted to watching Soto dominate in his Friday evening outing.
Gregory Soto is a completely different pitcher this year. 100 mph fastball and a nasty slider. Can’t remember the last time the tigers had as nasty a 1-2 punch as him and Jimenez.

Soto struck out Matt Davidson on a 100.4 mph sinker. Inhuman. And inhumane.
